Yes, a lame play on Wednesday that when said aloud makes me feel like I’m speaking the language of colds and congestion, but I’m allowed to be lame!

Here’s my round-up of interesting and weird things I’ve seen lately on the mystical universe of the internet.

  • De-classified – Artist Mark Andrew responded to people’s personal ads and asked them to sit for a photo. From the artist:

Through the anonymity of personal advertisements an amazing array and spectrum of human emotions, needs and experiences shows up – love, lust, anger, fantasy, and pain are just the first few to come to mind.

The intention of combining the images with the ads hopefully will give the viewer a very intriguing view of each subject. Adding the ability for the viewer and community at large to anonymously view and comment on each pieces hopefully will ad another interesting layer.

  • The weirdest trailer you will ever see:

Marilyn Minter’s Green Pink Caviar is an 8 minute film showcasing the most minute movements in women’s mouths as they licked candy and cake decoration on a glass surface. You can see every little taste bud moving like tiny tendrils on some sea creature.

It’s playing every hour on the giant MTV billboard in Times Square through May 31. Here is the complete listing of showings.

When my new Mino HD shows up this week I think I’m going to go down and film the whole thing…just because it’s so repulsively gorgeous and creepy, I can’t look away!

  • Caffeinated Soap – Yes, you heard right. The soap is a vegetable based glycerine formula with no harsh ingredients. It’s scented with peppermint oil so you don’t run the risk of that funky coffee filter in the garbage smell. Apparently the caffeine is absorbed through the skin. I know there are plenty of things human skin absorbs naturally, but the idea of absorbing my morning coffee makes me feel like some kind of futuristic alien.

Besides, there’s something to be said for the ritual of morning (or afternoon or midnight or 3am) coffee—the smell of hazlenut, the cup in my hand, my two packets of fiber-infused Splenda, that first tongue-blistering sip. Sorry. I prefer drinking my coffee to rubbing it all over myself.

  • Evelien Lohbeck’s Noteboek- I’ll leave you with this wonderfully enchanting short film. Her website has some more short clips that are worth taking a look at. Try “Airplane Crash” and “Insemination” (I think sperm are adorable so that’s that recommendation). Enjoy!

  • That movie trailer has me entirely repulsed and simutaneously facinated. I hope your Mino shows up soon, cause I can’t wait to see the whole thing!
