It sort of feels like… Tourist season is officially over, macaroons! No more event weekends for a while, no more shoobies! I’m refocusing on bettering my life & escape, much to the dismay of the Magician. I’ve scored something of a writing gig, but keep your fingers crossed for a truly stellar opportunity for me! [...] So much severe love for this coat ♥ Macaroons, let’s take a moment to stand back & appreciate what Hayden-Harnett does for us. I’ve been carrying their handbags for at least 5 years now. In fact, all these years later & I’m using the very first bag I ever purchased from them right now! [...] The only way to go…is up! It’s a shoddy economy. You can’t get a job without experience & can’t get experience without a job (not that there are many jobs anyway). It’s a vicious cycle & it’s easier than ever to become run down, frustrated & defeated. Chin up, macaroons! Don’t give up on your [...] Friends are phenomenal! Another week, another set of poems like an opened can of worms or row of abandoned homes. This week has an unintentional theme, my little macaroons- Macaroons! Friends are truly an astonishing institution. They’ll be brutally honest, fight for you, laugh with you & sometimes, as I learned recently, send angry [...] Shrug off the cardboard, burlap & suspender barrels! The city survived another stampede of high fashion, higher heels & heinous paparazzi. Now, macaroons, we can safely salivate over our favorite pieces…without accidentally drooling on Lindsay Lohan who is sitting in front of us. Art & science coexist in food & fabric to create stunningly interesting images that make the [...] *vroom vroom!* Well, I survived the week (barely- between the island almost sinking in floodwater & my car accident- not my fault, for the record) & yet… somehow ended up having a lot of fun & swearing off hot dogs forever! So much for the 9 inning challenge. Things are picking up around here. I’m [...] My present is candyfuture! Thinking much lately about Lime Crime makeup founder Doe Deere’s idea of Candyfuturism, I’ve started to reinvent my own vision of my future, the world, fashion etc… & of course, it’s all infused with magic. What might be fashionable if we were living in 3092 (the height of futuregrunge I hope!)?

Imagine the joy of walking up to a brightly lit box, sticking a couple of quarters into the slot and having your pick of any candy you wanted without having to ask anyone. It’s the ultimate freedom for a 7-year-old, assuming you [...] Goodbye to summer & all it meant to me. Well, macaroons, we’ve made it through another summer. Summers are notoriously harrowing for me & often bring heartbreak, pain & overwhelming challenges. However, I’m still here, better than ever & ready to change with the season.
